Photo Tour of Palo Alto

The City of Palo Alto is located in the northwestern corner of Santa Clara County. To the west and north, both across the border in San Mateo County, are Menlo Park and East Palo Alto as well as the San Francisco Bay. To the East is Mountain View and to the South are the communities of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. It is accessible by HWY 101 and HWY 280. Palo Alto is most well-known for the presence of Stanford University which provides an abundance of cultural and educational opportunities. The well-maintained downtown area of Palo Alto provides a great deal of shopping and dining, with further shopping available at the Stanford Shopping Center. The population of Palo Alto is over 61,000. It is an upscale area with very expensive housing. There is a push for more affordable housing in the area. Palo Alto has a large number of parks and other facilities for the community as well as access to public transportation.
