Mountain View
The City of Mountain View is located in the central northern part of Santa Clara County. It can be reached by HWY 101, HWY 85, and HWY 237. To the north and west are Palo Alto and the San Francisco Bay, to the south and west is Los Altos, and to the east is Sunnyvale. The city was incorporated in 1902 and now has a population over 72,000. Around half of the homes in Mountain View are multifamily with the rest made up of a mixture of single family and other types of housing. The population is diverse. The area has many parks and other amenities including a performing arts center and other recreational facilities. The Shoreline Amphitheatre is a cultural landmark for performances throughout the year. The area has developed around the high tech industry and many businesses make their home in Mountain View. The downtown area is pedestrian-oriented and has a variety of shopping and dining available, as well as access to public transportation.
