Los Altos Hills
The Town of Los Altos Hills is located off highway 280 in the northwestern corner of Santa Clara County to the west of Los Altos and south of Palo Alto. It is one of the most exclusive areas in the county. Los Altos Hills is known for its low crime rate, good schools and friendly atmosphere. This all residential city has a population under 10,000. The lots are all large, a one acre minimum, with potential views of the Bay to the East and mountains to the West. The town was incorporated in 1956. There is a mixture of older more modest homes and newer homes that have been rebuilt on old lots. The neighborhoods offer privacy with winding roads through the hills, many ending in cul-de-sacs. There are walking trails and golf in this rural setting. Foothill Community College provides cultural and educational opportunities. Nearby Palo Alto provides a shopping, dining and entertainment destination.
