Campbell
Campbell is located in the central part of Santa Clara County and is accessible by HWY 85, HWY 280 and HWY 17. Parts of West San Jose lie to the west, north and east of Campbell. Saratoga is also to the west and Los Gatos is to the south. The proximity to San Jose makes the distance of the commute good, but Campbell receives traffic from surrounding areas as a result. There is an historic downtown area which is being refurbished. The population is just under 40,000. The schools is Campbell receive good scores and the crime rate is low. The city was incorporated in 1952 but it has a long history reaching back to the beginning of the 1800s. Historically Campbell is known for the prunes it once produced, hence the name of The Pruneyard Shopping Center. The housing available covers the spectrum from single family homes to mobile homes. Many homes are older and modest. This suburb has a middle class feel to it. The downtown area provides shopping, dining and cultural activities. All of the expected public recreational areas and facilities are available.
